Berkeley Heights, NJ – LD21 Democratic Candidates Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman have been endorsed by the Sierra Club, one of the nation’s leading environmental organizations. The candidates issued the following joint statement announcing the endorsement.
“We’re proud to have the endorsement of one of the nation’s oldest and most prominent environmental groups. Our children’s future depends on the steps that we take now to protect the environment. In Trenton we will work to ensure that everyone in our district and state has clean air and clean water and we will continue to fight climate change. Unlike Jon Bramnick and Nancy Munoz, who repeatedly voted in lock-step with Chris Christie against common-sense environmental legislation, we will prioritize public health and cast votes in the best interests of future generations.”
Founded in 1892, the Sierra Club has over 3.5 million members worldwide with chapters that cover all 50 U.S. states. The New Jersey chapter is the 10th largest in the country with approximately 20,000 members.
