Berkeley Heights Democrats Endorse Mandelblatt & Gunderman for Assembly

Westfield, NJ - Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman have received endorsements from Berkeley Heights Mayor Angie Devanney, Councilwoman Susan Poage, Councilman Alvaro Medeiros, and Councilman Stephen Yellin.

“As a Mayor, former PTO and PAL President, and a mom, I support Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman for Assembly because they are driven leaders in their communities,” said Mayor Angie Devanney. “Unlike our current representatives who watched silently when the ARC Tunnel was defunded and consistently voted against the values of our neighbors on critical issues, Lisa and Stacey know the frustrations facing commuters, the stress of rising costs, the need to properly fund our public schools, and honoring our commitments to public workers while fixing our state’s fiscal crisis. Our state has many serious issues, which will require persistence, passion, and earnestness. Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman are the qualified leaders we need in the Assembly in order to provide a new vision and positive direction for a great future.”

“Lisa and Stacey are a dynamic duo. They have both worked tirelessly to lead Democrats to victory in the last 2 years, including newly elected officials like me,” stated Councilman Alvaro Medeiros. “As Council President, it’s critical that towns like Berkeley Heights have Lisa and Stacey fighting for us in Trenton to get things done.”

“As a public school teacher, I have watched my profession be denigrated and disrespected under Chris Christie, and our representatives failed to stand up for us. The time for change is overdue and we need leaders who will truly represent all our residents,” said Councilwoman Susan Poage. “Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman are passionate and committed to fight for change, and I am honored to support these women who, like me, are driven to make a difference.”

“I’ve worked to elect Democrats that share our values for almost 20 years and know firsthand that great candidates are required to win tough campaigns. We have a great team with Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman, because they understand the values have what it takes to make history by flipping the district. I’m so proud to endorse Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman,” said Councilman Stephen Yellin.

“I’m honored to have the support of Mayor DeVanney, Councilwoman Poage, and Councilmen Medeiros and Yellin,” said Lisa Mandelblatt. “For over a decade, Assemblyman Bramnick and Assemblywoman Munoz have failed to fight for those they were sent to Trenton to serve. NJ Transit is woefully underfunded and our infrastructure is crumbling. Stacey and I are running for the New Jersey General Assembly to fix the critical problems we face by bringing new ideas and fresh approaches to Trenton.”

“Our campaign is about the people,” said Stacey Gunderman. “And, I’m going to bring a new perspective as a working mom to help families struggling with affordability. As your State Assemblywoman, I will always listen to you and fight for our priorities because the stakes have never been higher as our residents struggle under the weight of high taxes and an affordability crisis.”

Mandelblatt and Gunderman have also been endorsed by Congressman Tom Malinowski,, Westfield Mayor Shelley Brindle, former Summit Mayor Jordan Glatt, Roselle Park Mayor Joseph Signorello III, and former LD 21 candidate Lacey Rzeszowski.
